Queens Park Rangers are weighing up a transfer move for Brighton defender Uwe Hünemeier, according to West London Sport.

The 32-year-old is set to leave the Amex Stadium this summer, having hardly featured for the Seagulls in the Premier League this campaign.

Would he be a good signing for Ian Holloway's QPR?

We discuss...

George Dagless

I'm not convinced.

Is he better than Nedum Onuoha? I don't think there's much in it and so it seems a change that wasn't really needed.

QPR need to try and upgrade on the players they are letting go this summer to get into the top six and I think this deal would leave the jury firmly out if it went through.

Chris Gallagher

He'd be a decent signing.

The Brighton man is a calming influence at the back and experienced, with those qualities what QPR need.

He will surely relish the opportunity to play regularly so this could be a good move for all concerned.

Jay Williams

With Nedum Onuoha on his way out, Hunemeier would be an ideal replacement.

Not only is the 32-year-old a model professional, he also has experience of winning promotion from the Championship with Brighton.

Lewis Dunk and Shaun Duffy are preferred to him but if QPR can wrap up a deal for the German on a free transfer, it would be a shrewd piece of early summer business for the Londoners.

Alfie Burns

The defender has plenty of experience from his time with Brighton, but the lack of football he's played is alarming.

This summer, QPR need to be targeting some real quality to get challenging higher up the table.

I’m not 100% sure that Hunemeier will improve Holloway’s starting XI, I can see him playing a bit-part role at Loftus Road.

He certainly shouldn’t be seen as a replacement for Nedum Onuoha.

Ben Barkworth

Hunemeier would be a good signing for QPR even if he hasn't played a lot recently.

They need to bring in an experienced replacement for Nedum Onuoha and he fits the bill.
