After two wins in 13 games and three straight defeats, Derby County's promotion push looked to be all-but over.

The controversial postponement of their first match against Cardiff City only heightened the tension around last night's rearranged fixture and, when Cardiff took an early lead, the world looked very bleak for Rams fans.

90 minutes later they had completely turned everything around, winning 3-1 and putting themselves back in the driving seat for a top six finish.

Captain Curtis Davies was clearly delighted, posting a picture of himself celebrating the win, claiming his side showed character.

Fans might argue that hasn't been the case in recent weeks, not least in matches against Sunderland and Burton where their team were soundly beaten by two sides likely to start next season in League One.

You might not be able to change the past, but the future is yours to write and Derby fans made that quite clear with their delighted responses.
