The key points from Paul Lambert’s first press conference as Ipswich manager

Published

on

Things have changed quickly at Ipswich Town in the last week or so with Paul Lambert coming in as their new manager.

The Tractor Boys were still under the guidance of Paul Hurst this time last week but after a loss to Leeds United he was shown the door.

Lambert, then, was announced on Saturday as the club’s new boss though he did not take charge of his new side as they lost away to Millwall that afternoon.

He’s got work to do, then, with the men from Portman Road struggling down at the wrong end of the league but it seems as though he is ready for the task ahead.

Speaking to the media for the first time as Ipswich boss to say, these are the key points from what he had to say – taken from the club’s official Twitter channel…

The Verdict

What he has had to say is obviously promising but what counts is what happens on the pitch.

Ipswich have some good players but they need to be more street-wise and fans will hope the experience of Lambert can help bring that.

Time will only tell, though, as they look to preserve their Championship status this year.
