Manchester City loanee Aaron Mooy has had a stunning season at Huddersfield Town and that has been reflected in their superb promotion to the Premier League.

The Terriers secured their top-flight status on Monday afternoon, having beaten Reading in a tense 4-3 penalty shootout, after the play-off final had ended in a 0-0 draw.

And once again, the Australian proved how much of a force he is in the middle-of-the-park, pulling the strings for the Terriers, despite there being no breakthrough in regulation time.

At 26-years-old, the former Western Sydney man has taken a while to breakthrough at the top level but it's been worth the wait and he's now going to see Premier league football one way or another next season.

Whether that's with Huddersfield or Manchester City is yet to be known but it's more than likely he'll return to the Etihad in the coming weeks, where his future will be assessed and sorted in the coming weeks.

Getting into Pep Guardiola's City team at this stage in his career is going to take some effort and despite a quality campaign in the second-tier, it might be a little too late.

But following their windfall, Huddersfield Town will be in a fantastic situation to make a move for the creative midfielder, rated at just £1million by Transfermarkt.

The fact of the matter is that Mooy has had a terrific campaign and more than deserves the opportunity to show fans what he can do at the highest level in England.

He'd be a superb signing for Huddersfield if they could bring him in on a free but for City, they've got a big decision to make regarding his future.
