Former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino courted much controversy during his spell in charge of the Whites, with the Italian leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of those associated with the club.

Now in charge of Brescia in Italy, the 61-year-old has appointed former Leeds sporting director Nicola Salerno to the same role he enjoyed during his spell in West Yorkshire.

The pair developed an infamous reputation at Elland Road, and will continue their relationship in Serie B with Brescia.

Labelled as a an expert of the Italian second tier, Salerno has been tasked with guiding the Rondinelle to promotion this season.

Despite lying in thirteenth position, Brescia lie just eight points from the summit of the table, with Salerno sure to be confident that his new side can challenge for a place in at least the playoff spots.
