It would be fair to say that fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers haven’t had much to cheer this season.

The Black Country club spent swathes of the season glancing over their shoulders, and at times it seemed that Wolves would be dragged into the relegation dogfight.

The appointment of former Aston Villa manager, Paul Lambert, in November proved to be a shrewd move.

The Scotsman has guided his team 10 points clear of the relegation spots, and Wolves fans may now look forward to another season of Championship football.

With a handful of games of the current campaign remaining, Lambert’s men will be aiming for a top half finish, and the possible overtaking of rivals, Villa.

With safety secure, Lambert will be plotting for next season.

The former Celtic man needs to improve the quality and depth of his squad if Wolves are to challenge for a return to the Premier League for the first time in five years.

One player he could target is plying his trade in League Two, but has the ability to bring a lot to this Wolverhampton team.

Luke Berry is a goalscoring midfielder playing for boyhood side, Cambridge United, and is ready to make the step up.

Berry has 15 strikes for the season, including a 4 goal haul in an FA Cup Second Round tie with Coventry City.

The midfielder spent a season with Barnsley in 2014/15, and made 31 League One appearances for the Tykes.

Berry opted to move back to his hometown club however, and this will produce some question marks over Wolves potential move for the player.

Despite this, Berry is good enough to compete in the Championship, and Wolves should target a move for the player.
