Bristol City have announced via their official website that the club has submitted plans to build a brand new training complex on their current Failand base.

Plans include a new 500-seater floodlight pitch that will host U-23 fixtures, along with two other full-size pitches and two new training areas.

The facility is also set to house a state of the art gymnasium, changing rooms, medical and rehabilitation facilities and office space for first-team and academy staff.

A key component behind chairman Stephen Lansdown’s vision is to bring the first-team, reserve side and academy teams together at one complex, to ensure a smooth transition for budding young stars into manager Gary Johnson’s first-team set-up.

The exciting plans will be reviewed by the local council, with building work expected to begin within the next year if local authorities give the go-ahead.

Fans took to Twitter to remark on the impressive proposal, with the Robins’ faithful quick to declare their excitement, and mock fierce city rivals Bristol Rovers…
