Britt Assombalonga’s future remains up in the air, with a number of clubs continuing to keep tabs on the Nottingham Forest striker, reports the Nottingham Post.

It is looking increasingly likely that Assombalonga will be leaving the City Ground this summer, with Middlesbrough, Watford and Burnley all continuing to pursue a deal for the 24-year-old.

Reports have suggested that any deal that takes place will involve eye-watering figures, particularly after Burnley’s initial £8m bid was rejected by Forest.

A report in The Sun also suggested that Boro were winning the race to sign Assombalonga, with the Riverside club prepared to pay £14m for his service as well as offering the striker £60k-a-week wages.

It has been Assombalonga’s form over the last three-years that has made him one of English football’s most in-demand players this summer, with the striker excelling at the City Ground.

Having completed a £5.5m move to Forest in 2014, Assombalonga went on to score 15 goals in his first season in the Midlands.

Injuries plagued the striker’s 2015/16 campaign, but Assombalonga was back amongst the goals last season, scoring 14 times, despite Forest struggling in the Sky Bet Championship.

In total, the 24-year-old has 30 Championship goals from just 65 appearances for Forest.
