Queens Park Rangers fans can go into the 2017/18 campaign full of optimism with Ian Holloway at the helm.

The R's look a much stronger unit under the former Blackpool boss, and if they carry on the form displayed last term, they will definitely be up there this season as opposed to finishing in mid-table year after year.

There is a big summer of rebuilding on the horizon, and the Hoops' recruitment is vitally important in helping them compete for a play-off push next term.

One thing that the QPR squad has been lacking ever since Charlie Austin's departure back in January 2016, is a clinical goalscorer  that can spearhead the club to promotion.

Idrissa Sylla and Conor Washington both played their part in finding the net last term, with a total of 18 goals between them in all competitions, however that still isn't good enough to challenge with the teams at the top.

The R's need a focal point for the likes of Sylla and Washington to run off, and there is one player who would be a fantastic acquisition for the R's; Yaya Sanogo.

The Frenchman, who endured 5 gruelling years at Arsenal, was released by the Gunners on Friday afternoon, however would still be a great addition for Ian Holloway's men.

Sanogo was never really given a consistent chance in the first team under Arsene Wenger, and may feel hard done to having experienced both Premier League and Champions League football with the Gunners.

The 24-year old went out on loan to then Championship outfit Charlton Athletic in February 2016, and netted 4 times in 8 games for the Addicks, which proves he can score in the Championship, more importantly for a struggling team too.

When he was 18, he scored 11 times in 21 games for Ligue 1 club Auxerre, before sealing a move to the Emirates.

At 6 ft 4, Sanogo is capable of leading the line by himself, and alongside Conor Washington, could form a formidable partnership for the R's, as they try and galvanise a promotion push next term.

So...what do you think QPR fans? Would Yaya Sanogo be a good signing, or would he be a flop? Leave all of your thoughts in the comments below!
