Leeds United are busy at work trying to build a squad capable of going one better next season, after a heartbreaking end to the 2016/17 campaign.

Under the guidance of Garry Monk last term, the Whites fell narrowly short of the play-off spots, despite being in the Championship play-off places for the majority of the season.

New boss Thomas Christiansen has wasted no time in bolstering his squad in preparation for the new season, with the shrewd additions of Mateusz Klich and Felix Wiedwald signing on at Elland Road.

This season will be a very interesting one for all concerned with Leeds, and many will be looking closely at the former APOEL FC boss' progress at Elland Road, following Monk's departure.

One player that the Dane must look to sign in the summer is Sheffield Wednesday star Fernando Forestieri, who is valued at a price of £4.25million on Transfermarkt.com.

He may not be the powerful, lethal finisher that talisman Chris Wood is, but his ability to unlock defences and take the ball round players is what gives Wednesday’s forward line so much promise, and would compliment the New Zealand international's playing style incredibly well.

The former Udinese forward scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Owls in 2015/16, as they came desperately close to returning to the Premier League via the play-offs, only to be defeated by Hull City at Wembley.

With a further 12 goals in the league last term too, Forestieri would be an exquisite addition to the Leeds front line.

Forestieri is also capable of playing as a number 10, and with 6 assists to his name last campaign, Christiansen should definitely look to splash the cash on Fernando Forestieri this summer...
