It was a good season for Barnsley in the Championship last time out as they Tykes more than held their own to finish comfortable in mid-table.

Under manager Paul Heckingbottom, the Tykes more than pulled their weight in the division to finish in a pretty comfortable mid-table - a good result considering their lightness in budget compared to other sides at this level.

And after impressing last time out, the pressure will be slightly on next season to either improve the league placing or at least match it.

And there’s one man we at the FLW think would be a cracking addition to the side this summer and that’s Blackburn striker Danny Graham.

Graham finished as Rovers’ top goalscorer last season but his strikes weren’t enough to keep his team in the division, as they suffered a cruel demotion down to League One.

But with that relegation now in the bag and confirmed, we think he’s a player that is far too good to be playing that level week-in, week-out.

His goalscoring rate did slow up during his time at Sunderland, but he more than showed in a struggling Blackburn team last season that he still has the strikes in him to contribute at this level.

If there was one criticism you might’ve had for Barnsley last season, it was that their goal-getting wasn’t as good as it perhaps should have been and to really improve for the upcoming campaign, they could do with bringing in a player that guarantees goals at this level.

Step forward, Danny Graham.
