It's set to be a busy summer for Nottingham Forest and manager Mark Warburton, who have plenty of work to do to ensure the club avoids the fate that was nearly suffered last season.

The Reds just about survived thanks to a 3-0 final day win over Ipswich Town but it's important to note just how much the club needs to do to make sure they're not caught up in the same situation again.

Rightly so, Reds fans were fuming to be caught scrapping down towards the relegation zone and former Brentford man Warburton now has the whole summer to pull together a plan and bring in the players he thinks can take the club up the table this time out.

And here at the FLW, we think there's one man in particular that can do a job for the Reds and that's released Everton striker Arouna Kone.

The former Wigan man has been released by manager Ronald Koeman after a five-year stint at the club that wasn't underwhelming, but didn't really get firing as the Ivorian might've liked.

But following his release, we still think there's plenty to come from the 33-year-old, who has pace and the ability to hit the back of the net in his locker.

Nottingham struggled for goals last season with the absence of star forward Britt Assombalonga growing ever-clearer by the matchday. Youngsters Ben Brereton and Zach Clough did as much as they could to get things working once again upfront but the Reds missed that sort of player that has been there and done it over this career.

Moving for free agent Kone would give them much-needed experience and a goal threat that really wasn't there last season, especially should Assombalonga leave over the summer months.
