Derby County fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bristol City in midweek as they lost ground on the top-six in the early stages of the Championship season.

Goals from Andreas Weimann and Josh Brownhill saw the Robins race into a two-goal lead on the night, before Jack Marriott scored a well-taken solo goal late on.

Marriott made a good impression in his substitute appearance, which has prompted calls from some of the Derby supporters for the striker to start on a more regular basis.

Football League World's Derby County fan pundit, Lisa Howard is keen to see Marriott involved from the start heading into their game against West Brom this weekend.

"Jack Marriott would be the first name on my team sheet every game.

"He should start against West Brom on Saturday for sure. He is a player that will always score goals, and he worries defenders with his power and pace."

The Derby County fan pundit also outlined the attributes that Marriott brings to the team when involved, and he's clearly a player that is rated highly by Howard.

"When Marriott is in the team, he gives you a striker that knows where the goal is. He runs onto balls at pace and worries defenders to death. He chases down lost balls, and is a real threat in front of goal."

Howard is also keen to see Cocu change his formation which involves playing two strikers, as Marriott could potentially line up alongside Martyn Waghorn.

"I want to see him play along side Waghorn up front, especially at home. I would maybe play Waghorn out wide and Marriott up front.

"I would consider dropping Josefzoon for Marriott as he has been hit and miss so far this season."
