Football League World's Brentford fan pundit Rhys Byron has given his thoughts on Sheffield United's reportedly imminent bid for star striker Ollie Watkins.

According to the Sun, United are ready to bid £15million for the 23-year-old but Byron is eager to see his side hold out for £20million instead.

"£15 million is the fee we’ve always demanded for Watkins," the regular punter told Football League World," the regular punter told Football League World.

"However, with Maupay, as well as The Blades' record signing Oli McBurnie, going for £20 million along with Watkins himself improving, I feel the fee should now be the same for Watkins."

"Especially as Watkins is a young English talent which will become more and more important over the next few years with regards to player registration rules."

Watkins has been tasked with stepping into Neal Maupay's place this season and has done well so far, netting seven of the club's nine goals over the opening ten matches of the season.

The summer saw the West Londonders bring in 11 new faces, including the likes of Pontus Jansson and David Raya, as they looked to bump themselves into the promotion race.

But with a good chunk of the season having now elapsed sit in 17th place, with a 1-0 loss to fellow promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest the latest blow to come their way with eight points between them and the top six.
