Queens Park Rangers announced yesterday midfielder Ilias Chair has signed a new three-year contract extension at Loftus Road.

The 21-year-old has been an important player for QPR so far this season, making eight appearances in all competitions and has really impressed Mark Warburton.

Chair spent the second half of last season on loan at Stevenage and made a big impact, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 16 appearances in League Two.

Since his return to Loftus Road this summer, Chair has been able to establish himself as a key player for the Rs and has been involved in eight of their nine matches this season.

Chair is one of the brightest young talents at QPR and he could have a big future ahead of him at the club.

Getting him tied down to a new long-term contract is a very smart decision and he now has a big opportunity to take his career to the next level at Loftus Road.

He was excellent for Stevenage in League Two last season and his performances for QPR in the Championship so far this campaign have been very promising.

He's a technically gifted player and he's got fantastic ability on the ball. His flair and creativity make him a very dangerous player for QPR to have in their side.

He has the ability to produce moments of individual brilliance that can change games - he even scored from inside his own half for Stevenage last season.

After a string of impressive displays from the bench, Chair has been able to establish himself in the starting line-up at Loftus Road this season and has started the last four matches.

His performances are even more impressive when you consider that he doesn't have a great deal of experience at this level and he'll surely continue to improve and grow in confidence as the season progresses.

QPR could be the prefect club for him too. Staying at Loftus Road was the best decision for his development and if he continues to work hard he could become a top player.

Warburton is an experienced manager and he's shown that he's prepared to give young players a chance in the first team. He should know how to get the best out of Chair and help him take his game to the next level.

He's becoming a real fans' favourite at Loftus Road and he's now got an opportunity to establish himself as a key player for the team over the next few seasons.

Now that he's committed his future to the club, he should be able to play with more freedom and confidence too.

Chair just needs to remain focused and mark sure that he keeps putting the work in on the training pitch, and he will continue to get opportunities in the first team. He could have a very important role to play for QPR this season.
