It looks as though it could be a long summer for Hull City, with the future of a number of the club's key players far from certain.

One player who could be one his way out of the KCOM Stadium is Kamil Grosicki.

The Sun (26/05, p69) has claimed that Nottingham Forest are preparing to make a £2.5million bid for Grosicki.

That fee of £2.5million does, however, seem rather low for Grosicki, given his contribution to Hull this season, and the fact that both clubs are targeting a push for promotion to the Premier League next season.

Here's why we feel that Hull should hold out for a fee of £5million for Grosicki.

At 31-years-old, it feels unlikely that many clubs will be willing to pay a huge sum for Grosicki, given he should be approaching the final few years at the peak of his career.

Even so, Grosicki played a big part in Hull's campaign last season, with only Jarrod Bowen and Fraizer Campbell scoring more goals than the Pole for The Tigers, while only one player in the whole division - Brentford's Said Benhrama - provided more assists than Grosicki.

Given Bowen is expected to attract Premier League interest in the summer, Hull will need to invest significantly to find replacements for both him and Grosicki, should the duo move on.

They should, therefore, be looking for around £4million up front for Grosicki, which should be enough to find a replacement with a similar level of Championship experience and ability, which could be vital if Hull are to avoid a relegation dogfight next season.

As shown by his contributions to Hull in terms of both goals and assists, Grosicki could have a big part to play in helping either 'Boro or Forest achieve their aim of promotion next season, so there should be an add on of around £1million for Hull in any deal agreed for the midfielder, given the financial prize of promotion to the Premier League.

Hull will not to want to lose Grosicki this summer, but with interest already growing in the Pole it may be difficult to avoid that, and ensuring they get the a good enough fee to replace the winger could well prove vital next season.
