Portsmouth are hoping to kick on having beaten Southend 4-1 before the FA Cup and international break took over their schedule.

Kenny Jackett has been under immense pressure for results, but recently Pompey have been starting to come back into form. Here's the expected Portsmouth lineup for Saturday's fixture at Rochdale...

At just 21-years-old, Bass has come into the side and has actually looked quite secure between the sticks.

It's a big moment for him in a Pompey shirt, and he'll be delighted that he's been picked ahead of Luke McGee.

The defender will come in for Ross McCrorie who picked up an injury. Haunstrup will be hoping to showcase his defensive talents in order to gain more opportunities in this Portsmouth side in the future.

Burgess is a player that you know what you're going to get with him. He's a good, solid defender, and will now have an important leadership role to play as Pompey look to keep up this form and push for the top six.

Downing will replace the injured Sean Raggett who Jackett stated wouldn't be recovered in time for the weekend's fixture. It'll be just his seventh appearance of the season, so he has to make sure he grabs his chance from the start with both hands.

The experienced full-back is needed in this young side, and he has hardly put a foot wrong throughout the season and Pompey's poor run.

He's a good option to have and someone that can get both up and down the pitch throughout the 90 minutes.

Williams has been starting as the wide midfielder on the right for Jackett's side and has been solid but not contributed enough in terms of goal threat.

He needs to add more to his game otherwise Marcus Harness may well jump into the starting XI after the Rochdale game.

Evans has been key in Portsmouth's side in different periods, and because of Tom Naylor's injury there might be an opportunity for the midfielder to have another run in the side under Jackett. The Pompey supporter will always gives his all, and hopefully help them come away with the three points.

Ben Close is an important player for this Pompey side and he can make them tick as well as being defensively solid at the back.

His work-rate should never be questioned, and often if he has a bad game, the whole team performs worse.

Curtis is an exciting player who's still very young but he has to work on his end product if he's to make it at a higher-level within the game. Just three goals this season, so he'll be hoping to add to that on Saturday.

Harrison hasn't hit the heights he would have hoped for so far in this campaign, but his partnership with John Marquis may have something to it after the striker stated that he enjoyed playing with him in the victory over Southend.

Marquis needs to improve if Portsmouth are to challenge for a place int he Championship, but he has performed better in recent weeks and there's an opportunity to build on his goal against Southend but at Rochdale.
