After Norwich's relegation from the Premier League, many backed the Canaries to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

However, it didn't quite work out that way, but at one point, it looked as though Norwich would storm to the Championship title.

A great early season run, left Norwich sitting pretty at the top of the Championship and you would've been a brave man to back against them going up.

It didn't take long for the cracks to start appearing though, and Norwich capitulated, dropping down the league, until they were eventually out of Play-Off contention.

A good late season run did paper over some of the cracks, but there is a huge summer ahead for Norwich, with a new manager, as well as new players needed.

One area where the Canaries have struggled for solidity this year, is out wide, and this will need to be addressed in the summer by the new boss.

Norwich should make a move for Wayne Routledge in the summer to bolster their wide options.

The former Newcastle winger has rarely featured under Paul Clement, and as he continues to put his own stamp on the Swansea squad in the summer, it is likely that Routledge will be pushed out.

This is where Norwich should step in.

The Canaries do have a lot of wingers at their disposal, but with question marks over the futures of the Murphy twins, they could soon be in need of a wide man.

Routledge is quick and direct, everything a good winger should be, which is likely to make Routledge a wanted man in the summer.

With top Championship strikers in Cameron Jerome and Nelson Oliveira waiting for service in the box, Norwich need to get someone in who can supply them with chances, and Routledge will do that.

With better service leading to more goals from the strikers, Norwich would be in with a much better chance of achieving an automatic promotion spot next season.
