It's been a superb season for Portsmouth who have returned to League One after being automatically promoted, meaning Pompey fans are one step closer to seeing their side back in the Premier League,

It's been a seriously tough few years for Pompey, who have been exiled in League Two for a while now but they're getting closer to restoring the club back to their best and there's hope down at Fratton Park that Premier League football might now be that far away.

But there's still lots of work to do over the summer months if Portsmouth are to strengthen significantly enough to stay in League One and potentially even mount a push for promotion next time around.

And one man we think would be a superb signing for Pompey over the summer is Everton's £1.28million-rated defender Luke Garbutt, who is back at Goodison Park having spent a brief spell on-loan with Wigan Athletic earlier this season.

He's really not broken into the Everton side like some of the young players have over the past couple of months but there's promise on Merseyside that he could be one of the best young players that we've seen at Everton in years.

But he needs first-team football at this stage of his career and it's important that he gets that again next season. And spending a whole year at Portsmouth on-loan in League One could be absolutely superb for his development.

Fratton Park will be absolutely rocking next season and Garbutt will be able to really appreciate how important it is to be playing a good level for a long period of time.

Pompey fans- do you think bringing in talented young loanees might be the key to their success next season? Leave your thoughts down below!
