Swansea City remain in contention for a Championship play-off spot despite having now dropped points in stoppage time during three of their last four league matches.

Steve Cooper's side have endured a frustrating week after slipping to a 1-0 defeat against Fulham following Aleksandar Mitrovic's late header, while they were then held to a 2-2 draw away at Blackburn after Bradley Johnson's strike in the closing stages.

The Swans' point at Ewood Park meant they still managed to close the gap to four points between themselves and sixth spot, but Cooper's men could now be even more firmly in the play-off mix if they had avoided their recent injury-time heartache.

However, there are still a number of positives for the Swans to take from their two away clashes against Fulham and then Blackburn, with the Welsh side having produced a strong account of themselves during large spells of both encounters.

Swansea looked particularly threatening on the break during the second half of both these matches, and winger Jordon Garrick was regularly central to the Swans' attacking efforts as he showcased his pace and skill to become a real nuisance for the defence.

Garrick has only recently returned to the first-team fold after missing around four months of action through injury, but his impressive displays from the bench saw him earn his first Championship start during the Blackburn clash over the weekend.

The 21-year-old certainly justified his inclusion in the side during his 70-minute run-out for the Liberty Stadium outfit, and he won his side a penalty after going down under the challenge of Tosin Adarabioyo early on in the second period.

The fact Cooper has now handed Garrick increasingly more game time during his last four appearances suggests the winger is valued highly by the Swansea boss, and it seems a certainty that Garrick will now play an important role during the final run-in.

Swansea have sometimes lacked width during their attacking endeavours this term, but Garrick is able to provide this in abundance as he has shown on numerous occasions how he can help Cooper's side to stretch opposition defences.

He has also added goals to his game since returning from his spell on the sidelines as he netted during the 4-4 draw against Hull before producing a composed finish to net the Swans' third goal during their 3-1 win over Huddersfield in February.

The fact he has now proven his ability to find the net means Cooper is even more likely to keep placing his trust in him during the rest of the campaign, and it will be interesting to see whether Garrick is now able to establish himself in the starting line-up.

Garrick may remain something of a raw talent, but he certainly adds more excitement to Swansea's attacking unit.
