Samuel Saiz’s return for Leeds United has been huge for the Whites and Paul Heckingbottom’s side, with the Spanish playmaker proving his worth to the Elland Road club.

Heckingbottom introduced Saiz as a second-half substitute against Derby County on Wednesday evening, with the 27-year-old providing an assist for Ezgjan Alioski.

The forward featured from the start against Brentford yesterday, proving to be a menace to the Bees throughout the second-half, as Leeds powered on to a 1-0 victory at Elland Road.

Here at FLW, we believe Saiz’s influence his huge, and the impact he has on Alioski is vital for Leeds, as when the duo link-up, Leeds almost look unstoppable going forward.

Saiz’s assist for Alioski at Pride Park on Wednesday was excellent, and the performance of the duo against Brentford was further evidence that they are key to Leeds’ success.

Saiz has been brilliant all season, but Alioski has blown hot and cold, with the bulk of his best performance coming when his Spanish teammate is in the starting XI.

Between the duo this season they have 11 Championship goals, with the duo also involved in plenty of assists – including Alioski’s free-kick for Liam Cooper’s winner against Brentford yesterday.

The impact of the duo in the next 12 fixtures might not be enough to guide Leeds to the play-offs, but going forward, Heckingbottom will be keen to see just how far Saiz and Alioski can take Leeds next season.

The improvement in Alioski when Saiz features is scary, and if the two can continue to have the same impact as the last two games, there are exciting times on the horizon for Leeds.
