The dream midfield for Leeds United under Garry Monk next season

Published

on

Leeds United will be hoping that the appointment of Garry Monk will prove to be a shrewd one. This is his first managerial post since parting ways with Swansea City last year and his arrival has stirred excitement amongst fans.

One of the 38-year old’s first jobs will be to turn the mid-table side of last year into a promotion challenging team at long last.

Owner Massimo Cellino has made it perfectly clear that reaching the play-offs is the minimum expectation next season, meaning this summer represents a crucial period for the former Swans coach to hit the ground running.

With midfield being such an important part of any football team, Monk will need to retain some key players in the Whites’ engine room, as well as trying his hand at drafting in some reinforcements.

Some moves may be ambitious, but when was the last time a club of this stature made a statement signing?

Considering that, with silly season just around the corner, here’s a look at the dream Leeds United midfield under Garry Monk next season.
