The dream midfield for Coventry City under Tony Mowbray next season – Agreed?

Published

on

It was a dramatic capitulation which saw the demise of Coventry’s promotion bid last season.

From top in December to mid-table mediocrity, courtesy of relegation form post-Christmas.

Tony Mowbray will be determined to mount a better a challenge this year and will need to recruit well over the summer to make this happen. Striker is a key area to target with a replacement for 20-goal Adam Armstrong needed. Centre back is another area which needs bolstering following the release of Aaron Martin and Reda Johnson.

But probably top of the priority list is to add some new faces in the attacking midfield departments. James Maddison and Jacob Murphy both return to parent club Norwich and Ruben Lameiras can be inconsistent so this is an area which needs to be addressed.

If Mowbray captures the right players then he should expect Coventry to be up there competing for promotion next term.
