As Sheffield United look to embark on what will be a 6th season in League One, all eyes will once again be cast on Bramall Lane as they will no doubt be regarded as pre season favourites once more.

Chris Wilder has taken over from Nigel Adkins and has moved swiftly to make his own mark on the club, releasing 10 players, transfer listing another 7, and bringing in 2 of his own already.

Blades fans are so far happy with Wilder and how he is going about his business, with many fans agreeing with his decision to release so many and essentially start afresh.

If United are going to challenge though, they will need goals, and despite Billy Sharps efforts last term, only Che Adams managed to hit double figures alongside Sharp.

Wilder will be keen to address his attacking options, and with this in mind FLW writer Lee Connor gives his opinion on what could be a dream front three for Sheffield United next season...

Billy Sharp

The team needs to be built around Sharp, and with Wilder making him captain from day 1 of his arrival at Bramall Lane, Sharp will once again be expected to deliver the goods up top.

Over 20 goals last term were barely seen as a reward given the teams plight in the League, but a similar figure must once again be the Sheffield born forwards target as he looks to fire his boyhood club to promotion.

If Sharp can be partnered with the right sort of personnel alongside him, then it might just be enough to fire the Blades to that elusive promotion.

Ricky Holmes

One of Wilder's trusted troops at Northampton last term, Holmes was one of the standout players as the team romped the League Two title.

He offers goals and assists in equal measure, and has the ability to play wide or through the middle, giving Wilder plenty of attacking options to add to those he already has at his disposal.

If United could sign Holmes, it would be a real step in the right direction as well as a big blow to the Cobbler's and their own hopes of winning successive promotions.

Che Adams

The youngster easily did enough to impress last term and should be a shoe in for a starting berth next term.

If Wilder opted for a front three with Sharp down the middle, Adams and Holmes could well offer exciting play from wide areas and get into dangerous positions to deliver the goals the Blades need to win games.

Adams is an excellent all around player, and next season even more is expected of the former Ilkeston Town man as United look to finally mount a serious promotion charge.

Blades fans, would you take this front three? Who else would you like to sign? Let us know in the comments!!
