Rotherham had a topsy turvy season which saw them go from a seemingly doomed relegation spot to comfortable safety. At the start of the season expectations were understandably low with a shoestring budget to work with and it showed at first with Rotherham cut adrift in the bottom 3 leading to the sacking of Steve Evans.
Rotherham didn’t rest on their laurels though, and brought in former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn where, despite initial promise, their form dipped again and when Redfearn left they were 22nd and in big trouble.
The chairman brought in Championship specialist Neil Warnock who led the side on a marvellous run of form as they picked up 10 points in March including fantastic wins over Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday and came from 3-0 down against Derby to claim a point.
Surprisingly at the end of the season Warnock decided not to stay on meaning Rotherham had the very difficult task of replacing him, with the Millers opting for Alan Stubbs.
Stubbs failed to lead Hibernian to promotion from the Scottish Championship losing out in the playoffs to Falkirk but overall fans were happy as the side picked up some long awaited silverware when they defeated Rangers 3-2 in the Scottish Cup Final.
If he is to keep Rotherham up he’ll have to sign players wisely and here are 3 strikers that Rotherham fans will be happy to see leading the line next season…
