Many tipped Preston for relegation last year, but they managed to beat expectations by finishing in mid-table.

Their first half of the season consisted of a lack of goals but a perfectly solid defence. This was turned around in the second half of the year when they managed to squeeze some goals out of their side and shot up the table.

Their excellent form towards the end of the season saw many tip them for a play off push, and although that never happened, Simon Grayson must be commended on doing a fabulous job for the Lancashire based club.

Like all clubs who have come up and stayed up, they'll be wary of being hit by the second season blues, and will need to make the necessary additions this summer to make sure they stay up next year.

Here is a front line that will keep the Preston in the division next year and up the table....

Lloyd Isgrove

The Welshman joined Barnsley on loan from Southampton this year and had an excellent campaign during his time in Yorkshire, which will undoubtedly see some considerable interest in the young winger, who seems out of the picture on the coast.

Preston have, in fact, already began discussions with Southampton over bringing the 22-year-old to Deepdale, which means he could be leading the line out wide for Preston next year.

Barnsley will be gutted to be missing out on Isgrove who could be a great fit for the Championship.

Tom Bradshaw

Preston appear to be at the front of the line for another Welshman on this list, they lead a number of sides in the race for the Walsall star, who could easily make it into most of the sides in the Championship.

He scored 20 goals in League One last year and after Walsall failed to get out of the third tier last season, they'll face a tough battle to keep hold of him, especially with most of the Championship scampering after him.

For Preston to really fly up the table they need to add a regular goalscorer, especially with Joe Garner failing to impress last year, and Bradshaw could really add the fire they need.

Paul Gallagher

Paul Gallagher has signed a two-year deal with Preston

The Scotsman was one of Preston's stand out players last season after signing a permanent deal at the club from Leicester last season following a loan spell at Deepdale in League One.

He can play anywhere across the front line, even up front if needs be, and is a major asset to the Lilywhites after scoring five goals and making five assists last season.

Gallagher is a vital part to Preston's team and will have a major role to play there next season.
