Rolando Aarons' loan move to Huddersfield Town from Newcastle United fell through as the required paperwork was filed just two minutes after the 5pm deadline, as per The Daily Mail.

Aarons has spent time out on loan a fair bit since his arrival on Tyneside and it had been looking likely that another temporary switch was going to be sealed.

Indeed, he was on course to join up with the Terriers but the deal fell through, and it has now been revealed just how dramatic that turn around was with literally minutes stopping him from joining.

It always seems the way that some moves get left right until the final moment and you always run a risk of not getting a player with that in mind and that is what has happened.

For Aarons, then, it's disappointing as he is now set to be on the periphery at Newcastle for the months to come and he'll have to wait until January to try and get a move.

The Verdict

It's a dramatic turn of events for Aarons and Huddersfield who just cut it too fine when trying to get him into the club.

Both will have to move on from it, then, and it remains to be seen if talks resume in the January window.
