The FA Cup no longer serves as a distraction for the Owls which is likely to place Jos Luhukay under scrutiny.

This season has been one to forget for Wednesday fans due to the club only being seven points away from the relegation places, when the club was supposed to be aiming for the play-offs.

Luhukay's arrival coincided with an FA Cup run, but defeat to Swansea in the 5th round replay means that the league is the sole focus of the club.

Wednesday's form in the league under him has been disappointing so far.

This is understandable considering the amount of injuries afflicting the squad. However, football is unforgiving and the scrutiny is likely to increase the closer the gap is to the relegation spots.

One win in eight league games isn't a great return.

Luhukay has made the club hard to beat with four draws in that period, which has seen them pick up a total of seven points in those eight games. Assuming that this form continues until the end of the season, this would see them pick up 11 more points which would leave them a total of 48. This is likely to be enough to stay up, but the board are unlikely to be impressed.

The board has made it clear that promotion is the aim, and Luhukay has done little to show that he can achieve that.

His defensive style of play has made the team hard to beat, but offers little going forwards.

It would be harsh to judge him without seeing a full squad at his disposal as well as a full transfer window, but the aspiration for instant success may work against him.

Wednesday's end to the season is crucial for the long-term future of the manager as well as the club.

A lack of results as well as a negative style of play does little to bring confidence in his methods, which could influence the board in the summer.
