Cardiff City fan pundit, Rhys Davies doesn't think the club have made a mistake in opting to sell striker, Rhys Healey to MK Dons, after the deal was confirmed on Tuesday.

Healey spent six years with the Bluebirds, but struggled for regular game time in the first-team, and spent last season on loan with the MK Dons, before making his move a permanent one.

"I don’t think Cardiff have made a mistake moving him on because he’s not the player Cardiff need right now.

"Of course, because of his age, he might go on to be a good player, but seeing as Warnock will aiming for another promotion push, he’ll want strikers already proven at this level."

Healey scored nine goals in 21 appearances in League Two last season, as MK Dons won promotion into League One, and he'll be keen to build on those impressive showings next term.

Davies went on to admit that it was a tough ask for Healey to break into the Cardiff starting XI in recent years, with Neil Warnock having stronger and more experienced options available to him.

"It’s been tough for Healey at Cardiff because of the period he’s been at the club.

"When Warnock came in, he looked at Kenneth Zohore to lead the line, and Healey was never going to get a look in last year because he’s not a Premier League standard player."

The Cardiff City fan pundit insisted that it's a good deal for both clubs involved, and is expecting Warnock to add to his squad before the transfer window closes, as they target an immediate return back into the Premier League.

"This deal suits both clubs. Healey will have a chance to prove his worth as a first team striker elsewhere, whilst Warnock will be looking for another experienced striker for another season in the Championship."
