Sunday afternoon presents the first Second City derby clash of the season, as Aston Villa and Birmingham City look to renew rivalry for the first time in the 2018-19 campaign.

For the first time in a few years, both sides will be looking to secure an important three points at the right end of the table - Birmingham have been fighting near the relegation zone for the last few years but their turnaround under Garry Monk has been magnificent.

Blues have won four of their last six games and find themselves just one place below their arch rivals - whereas Villa will be looking to carry on from where they left off after a sensational 3-0 win away at promotion rivals Derby County a fortnight ago.

It's bound to be a cagey, scrappy affair at Villa Park as it always is in a derby match - and both teams will be looking to rely on their front-men in order to grab the ultimate decisive goals.

Lukas Jutkiewicz and Jonathan Kodjia have had many different seasons to what was expected of them at the start of the season - Kodjia was expected to be one of the division's top goalscorers after returning from injury, whereas very little was expected of Jutkiewicz after netting 18 goals in his last 78 appearances for City.

But Jutkiewicz, who has already been given the accolade of the Championship's Player of the Month award this season, has been in sensational form for Garry Monk's men - netting 9 goals in 17 games this season.

Kodjia, on the other hand, has found it difficult this season - he has been played both up front and out wide this season and has found himself behind Tammy Abraham in the pecking order after netting 4 goals in 17 appearances this term.

It's fair to say that Kodjia is short of confidence this term - he averages just 1.8 shots per game compared to Jutkiewicz' 2.5 shots per game and has provided just one assist this season.

Jutkiewicz, on the other hand, is the complete forward - his physical prowess and presence make him the perfect strike partner for Che Adams, he has provided three assists and wins an average of 12.3 aerial duels per game, a huge gulf between Kodjia's 1.4 per game.

The duo are very similar when it comes down to key passes per game, but it's fair to say that Jutkiewicz is performing well above expectations this term and is showing his Villa counterpart how it's done...
