Sheffield United have confirmed that several players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire this summer, including former fan favourite Paul Coutts.

The classy midfielder was crucial in Chris Wilder's first season and starred as the Blades won promotion back to the Championship before a horrific leg break in the second-tier halted his progress.

As well as the former Derby man, Martin Cranie is another to be released despite playing 15 times as the side won promotion this season, where his versatility was very useful.

The club confirmed on their website that the duo, along with Conor Washington, Daniel Lafferty and Caolan Lavery will leave this summer.

As well as that, seven players were made available for transfer, including Leon Clarke and Jake Wright, although no decisions on those players came as a surprise.

Many Sheffield United fans were sorry to see Coutts and Cranie go and they certainly appreciated their efforts during their time at Bramall Lane.
