‘The club has well and truly turned a page’ – Many QPR fans excited by latest transfer update

QPR are reportedly closing in on signing West Bromwich Albion duo Charlie Austin and Sam Field, which has drawn an exciting reaction from many fans of the west London club.

Austin and Field both joined the R’s on loan from Albion in January and helped Mark Warburton’s side finish 2020/21 with a flourish as their impressive form in the second half of the campaign earned them a ninth-place finish.

The former’s current deal with the Baggies is set to expire this summer and, according to West London Sport, the indication is that they are not going to trigger his one-year extension, which will leave the door open for the R’s.

It is understood that significant progress has been made between Austin and the west London club, with a permanent deal now looking likely.

There’s good news concerning Field too, who could sign as soon as next week. Though the 23-year-old midfield was four starts short of triggering the permanent option in his loan deal, the report claims that all parties are keen to agree a deal that sees him leave the Hawthorns to become part of Warburton’s squad.
