West Bromwich Albion are coming strong in the Sky Bet Championship, with Darren Moore’s side looking a real force after a testing start to the season.

The Baggies were relegated from the top-flight last season, with many expecting to see Moore deliver promotion before a ball was even kicked.

However, it wasn’t the best of starts for Moore and his side, with an opening day defeat to Bolton Wanderers deflating the mood at the Hawthorns.

Now, after nine fixtures of the season, things are looking better for the Baggies, who sit third in the table and just a single point behind the automatic promotion places.

Moore’s side are unbeaten in four, winning three of those fixtures, including the last two.

On paper, the Baggies look to have one of the strongest squads in the Championship, with Moore’s side sure to be in promotion contention at the end of the season.

Here at FLW, we take a look at THREE clear reasons why Moore will deliver promotion…

In Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, the Baggies have the best strikers in the Championship, with Moore finding a system that gets them both in their favoured position.

They’ve already been amongst the goals, with more expected to follow.

The likes of Matt Phillips and Harvey Barnes are assisting them, giving Moore’s side great attacking options.

Gayle knows what it takes to get out of the Championship, whilst there are some other extremely experienced players available to Moore.

The likes of Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and Craig Dawson have experienced a number of levels of the English game.

Players like that will be vital throughout the season.

Sam Johnstone was excellent during an 18 month loan spell with Aston Villa in the Championship, so it was understandable why West Brom were delighted to bring him on board.

It hasn’t been the most impressive start from the ex-Man United stopper, but over the course of the season he will win more points than he loses.

A good goalkeeper is really vital at any club with promotion hopes.
