Sunderland added another big win to their impressive run of form on Tuesday night with a 4-2 win against fellow promotion hopefuls Barnsley.

The Black Cats raced into a 3-0 lead after half-an-hour with Aiden McGeady opening the scoring from the spot before strikes from Josh Maja and Lynden Gooch put them in a dominant position.

Kieffer Moore dragged the Tykes back into the game with two goals, but Jack Ross's side were not to be beaten, however, as Luke O'Nien tapped home a fourth to make the game safe.

The win extended their unbeaten run to 11 games in League One but club owner Stewart Donald was quick to heap praise back on the fans after the game.

Since Donald took ownership at the Stadium of Light in the summer, the fans have discovered a new-found love for their club again with Jack Ross assembling a thoroughly likeable squad who look destined for a return to the second-tier.

And just as Donald loves the club's fans, the club's fans love him back...
