Jay DaSilva would be a cheap way for Daniel Farke to improve his Norwich squad.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Charlton this season where he has impressed in the left-back position with a total of 38 league appearances. He is part of Chelsea's large amount of loanees, so his next step will be a familiar one because he will either join Vitesse Arnhem or go on loan to a Championship club in order to continue his development.

Daniel Farke should seriously consider enticing him to join his project with the Canaries because he is technically gifted, tactically intelligent and could fill a role in his team. DaSilva can play all along the defence, although he is best as a full-back, so he adds significant depth to a team.

The end of their parachute payments means the Canaries need to be astute with their signings. James Maddison's potential transfer will help in that regard significantly, but they will need to find a replacement for him, which is unlikely to be cheap.

DaSilva could compete for the right-back role where Ivo Pinto hasn't impressed and Harrison Reed has been forced to fill in. The Chelsea loanee could bring consistency to that position while also acting as depth for the left-back role.

This is obviously only a short-term solution because he would be on loan, but he could aid a push for promotion which is what the Canaries need to be aiming for.
