As exciting as it is to have the 2022 World Cup well underway, there will be plenty of Championship supporters counting down the days until the full schedule gets back underway on the 10th of December.

Among those will be a fair few Bristol City fans, who will hope that the break allows Nigel Pearson's squad to recharge and get back to their best.

It's been quite the ride for the Ashton Gate faithful this term, with the Robins scoring plenty of goals but conceding even more, and they can count a few famous faces in their ranks.

Here, we've highlighted the celebrities that supposedly support Bristol City – have you ever seen one at a game?

John Cleese

Arguably the biggest name on this list, Monty Python and Fawlty Towers star John Cleese is considered British comedy royalty by many.

Born in Somerset, Clease has been a fan of the Robins since 1953 by his own admission.

Chris Wood

Towering golfer Chris Wood had dreams of playing for City when he was growing up in Bristol but a knee injury forced him to turn his attention to golf.

That's proven a smart move as the 34-year-old has played in major tournaments and the Ryder Cup.

Jack Leach

Cricketer Jack Leach has played his part in England's BazBall revolution and likely will have enjoyed watching some NigeBall this season.

The Somerset player has been honoured at Ashton Gate in the past and was given a 1* shirt after his memorable innings at Headingley in 2019.

Marcus Trescothick

One of England's great modern openers and a long-term servant of Somerset, former cricket player and current coach Marcus Trescothick is also a dedicated fan of the Robins.

He's an honourary vice president of the Ashton Gate outfit and visited the training ground a few years ago.

Joe Sims

Bristolian actor Joe Sims is best known for his part in Broadchurn but Robins fans may recognise him for his Twitter presence, which includes plenty of City chat.

He's also been involved in plenty of football-based productions – such as a play called 'The Red Lion' and BBC Comedy The First Team.

Mark Watson

Another pretty vocal supporter of the Bs3 outfit, comedian Mark Watson is certainly worth a follow for any City supporters.

He's made it no secret that he's a huge Robins fan despite the ups and downs that come with that tag.

Tony Robinson

Such is Tony Robinson's love for City that he described the day they won promotion back to the Championship in 2014/15 as the happiest day of his life.

He should be a familiar face having forged a career as an actor, broadcaster, comedian, and political activist.

Jonathan Pearce

We wrap up with a voice you will hear on the BBC's coverage of Qatar 2022.

As well as being a renowned sports commentator and one of the most recognisable voices on TV, Jonathan Pearce is also a City fan.
