The 2017/18 campaign was a miserable one for Sheffield Wednesday, who finished 15th in the Sky Bet Championship table.

After challenging for promotion under Carlos Carvalhal in 2016 and 2017, many at Hillsborough were expecting more of the same. However, Wednesday struggled their way to a mid-table finish, with Jos Luhukay overseeing the second-half of the season.

Despite a testing start to life in the Championship, Luhukay appears to be finding his feet at Hillsborough, with results improving towards the end of the season.

The Dutchman will be looking to be busy during the summer transfer window, as he looks to give the squad he inherited from Carvalhal a revamp.

Players will arrive at Hillsborough, but Luhukay could also be looking to move on some of those that he has inherited from Carvalhal.

With that in mind, here is a look at THREE Carvalhal favourites who he should look to move on this summer…

There’s little doubt that the Scottish forward has class, but this summer could be the perfect time for him to move on.

Fletcher’s 2017/18 campaign was plagued by injury, with Atdhe Nuhiu stepping up excellently in his absence.

Whilst Luhukay will not want to overhaul his striking options, he will want to freshen them up.

Moving Fletcher on could be one route he takes.

The 33-year-old featured regularly last season, but that was due to the amount of injuries at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday have plenty of quality options in central midfield, which could open the door for Jones to leave.

In a fully fit squad, it is hard to see Jones featuring.

Fox is still young, but he hasn’t impressed during his time at Hillsborough.

The defender has struggled to fit into Luhukay’s 3-5-2 system, which could force Wednesday’s boss to cash-in this summer.

Fox might be given pre-season to prove himself, but he could be another Carvalhal signing heading for the exit door.
