Cardiff had been on a pretty impressive run of late until their 4-2 defeat at West Brom last weekend halted that.

Neil Warnock's side have just come down from the Premier League, but haven't found it easy being back in the Championship, with the Bluebirds much reliant on their home form.

They have failed to win away from home in the current season, and that's something that will worry the supporters as they head into a crucial period of the campaign where the table begins to take shape.

Going forward, they've been rather inconsistent and have struggled for goals in different games, whilst in others the Bluebirds have had numerous amount of chances to go ahead.

New signing Robert Glatzel will probably be disappointed with the start he's made to the season so far, but Warnock has failed to give other forward, Danny Ward, an opportunity to impress from the start in recent weeks.

This was made even more apparent when the 27-year-old came off the Cardiff City bench last Saturday to score twice for them as they looked to mount a comeback against the Baggies.

It would have given Warnock a choice in his head, and Ward will now be thinking that he must deserve an opportunity.

Ward will be left very disappointed if he's not to start the next fixture, which is a home game against Sheffield Wednesday.

In that West Brom game, Glatzel missed various chances, but Ward came on and made an immediate impact which surely would have twisted Warnock's hand in terms of the lineup for the next fixture.

There's not really much more you can do as a striker apart from score goals so there should be an opportunity coming up for the former Rotherham player.

Cardiff have to improve if they're to make any surge towards the Premier League once more, but that would require goals. If Ward is the option to bring that, then it doesn't matter how much that they've spent on Glatzel, they must start the man inform.
