Bristol City are currently having an excellent season so far and sit in the top six of the Championship following the first 14 games of the new campaign.

Despite the good start, they have had quite a few injury troubles including Benik Afobe being ruled out for the rest of the season, giving them a crisis in the striker department.

It was a massive blow, especially after the lively start to the season that Afobe had undergone and now Lee Johnson is still finding ways to make sure they don't rue the forward's injuries.

Johnson and his Robins brought in free agent Rodri, who is a 29-year-old striker from Spain and has played for clubs such as Granada, Valladolid and Sevilla.

He is yet to hit the ground running at Ashton Gate and has featured in three games for the Robins but has failed to do anything of merit so far. In fact, against Charlton he missed a sitter, which supporters couldn't believe hadn't found the back of the net.

At this current time, Robins fans were slowly getting excited about the prospect of Eddie Nketiah being recalled from Leeds and then loaned out to Bristol City. However, in recent days it has been speculated that Arsenal are not looking to recall the youngster during the January transfer window.

One man this will delight though, is Rodri. He will have a big opportunity up until January and he'll know how much of a chance this is to turn his career around and make a name for himself in England.

He'll be feeling relieved about the news, but also a sense of pressure knowing a lot of the Robins' promotion hopes will rely on him to start finding the back of the net in the very near future. It will either be pressure that he handles and that can fire him on, or it may break him and the dry run may continue.

With Rodri being at the club until just January, it's yet to be seen whether the Robins will try for somebody new up top or if they'll extend the current deal that Rodri is on.

Either way, the Spaniard must start to find the back of the net, or it's unlikely that he'll be at the club for much of 2020.
