Bristol City have had an excellent start to the season and sit in the top six after eleven games of the new campaign.

The Robins have stayed unbeaten since the opening day of the season, which is excellent and has really made people start to look them in a different manner, and as promotion contenders ahead of the next few crucial months.

However, they have had some serious injuries, and none more so than striker Benik Afobe who has been ruled out for the season. The forward was just starting to hit form and then picked up a crucial injury that many thought would be a significant blow to the Robins' chances of promotion.

There have been a couple of different names linked to the club, with the possibility of Lee Johnson's side signing a free agent, but at this current moment in time they have opted not to do that and have used a different outlet in the attacking position.

Andreas Weimann has played as a striker in recent weeks, and has done a pretty good job of it so far. He'll be hoping he can carry it on and make himself important in terms of his goals return to the side, that should be his main aim.

The forward was upfront for the fixture against Brentford, and then once more against Reading and he caused both defences problems with running that pulled away centre-backs leaving his partner free on several occasions.

His goal against Brentford was typical of a striker and he has to keep working in this position if Bristol City are to achieve what they've set out to do.

Weimann has lots of experience in his game, and he might have seen the injury as a personal benefit as he can a now have a larger proportion of game time in a position that he appears to thrive under.

We've seen it over the years with the Austrian and his smart finishing, and he has the ability to fill the void that has been left by Afobe, along with Famara Diedhiou.

He has to keep working, and in time the goals will come, he knows he could be the Robins' saviour this campaign.
