Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi will no doubt want his side to acquit themselves well, when they make the trip to the Emirates tonight to face Arsenal in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

But with Championship success surely a priority for Lamouchi, the cup tie could well give him the chance to rest players, especially with their next league match coming on Friday evening.

Current first-choice goal-keeper Brice Samba is a player who could well be given the night off, giving a further chance for on-loan Manchester City keeper Arijanet Muric to impress.

So should Lamouchi drop Brice Samba for tonight's game against Arsenal?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

"I can see Muric getting a run-out for the Arsenal match, as Samba has now established himself as Forest's Championship goalkeeper in recent weeks.

"This means that Samba would perhaps benefit from a rest and Muric also might not getting many other opportunities anytime soon to prove himself.

"Muric will also be more than capable of holding his own against a side of Arsenal's calibre, with his time as Manchester City's back-up 'keeper last season suggesting he already has good experience under his belt.

"This could be a good chance for Muric to remind Forest why they worked so hard to secure his signature over the summer, while it would also benefit the club to have two in-form goalkeepers if Muric delivers a strong performance."

Dean Cooke

"I don't think he should but often sides will have a cup goalkeeper otherwise when will they get game time.

"My thinking is that he just can't drop Samba, especially after his excellent performances in recent weeks and I would be inclined to say yes about dropping him had it been so many other teams, but they'll need their keeper on top form if they're to go through to the next round at the Emirates.

"It's going to be interesting to see what Lamouchi does, but Samba should play over Muric in my eyes."

George Harbey

“I think keeping him fit for the league is more important than anything.

“Of course, Forest will want to take tonight seriously and not get embarrassed, and Lamouchi has already hinted that he will make a strong team.

“But Samba has been absolutely excellent over the last few weeks, and if he picked up an injury tonight, it would be a massive blow to him out with a trip to Stoke just around the corner.

“I’d personally give Aro Muric a chance to impress.”
