It's fair to say that if Dean Smith had remained in charge of Brentford for the remainder of the season, then the Bees would have certainly been challenging for a top-six finish.

But since Smith's departure, the Bees' form has taken a huge dip and they are now closer to the relegation zone, as opposed to the play-off places.

This will be a huge concern for Brentford supporters, many of whom would have expected their team to continue their good run of form, even after Smith's departure from the club.

One of the rare bright sparks so far this season has been the form of Neal Maupay who has shown glimpses of why he could be playing at a higher level than the Championship.

But there are many players who are yet to have been given a fair chance in the Brentford side to prove themselves, with new boss Thomas Frank opting to continue to pick a number of underperforming players each week.

So which players are likely to be fed up at Griffin Park heading into a busy festive period?

At the start of the season, many Brentford fans wouldn't have been surprised to see Daniels as second-choice goalkeeper behind Daniel Bentley.

But Bentley has struggled to replicate the impressive form he had shown last season and Daniels will certainly feel hard done by having not being given a fair chance of a run in the Brentford starting XI.

The attacking midfielder is yet to make a league appearance for the Bees this season and having made only two starts in last season's campaign, he is sure to be unhappy with his current game time.

Given the club's poor run of form, if he isn't to get a chance in the coming weeks, then he will surely be heading for the exit door when the January transfer window reopens.
