Bolton Wanderers face a big battle to stay in the Championship and it would be an excellent achievement for Phil Parkinson if he keeps the Trotters up.

The financial difficulties at the club have been well publicised and it has restricted Parkinson in the transfer market.

As well as that, top scorer Gary Madine was sold on deadline day which seriously weakened the Bolton side.

The ex-Bradford boss has assembled a real mix of players to make up his squad. From experienced free transfers such as Karl Henry to young loan signings like Tyler Walker, Parkinson has done all he can to create a competitive squad.

Despite that, he has been reluctant to turn to the clubs own academy players in recent weeks although there are two players who are close to breaking through to the first team.

At 22-year old, King is a bit old for the ‘wonderkid’ tag but he has to be very close on making an impact in the first team.

The versatile midfielder, who can play further forward, has worked his way up from non-league to get a chance with Bolton and impressed greatly with the U23 side last season.

That saw him get a chance in the Carabao Cup this season and he again did well against West Ham earlier in the campaign.

Yet, chances have been very hard to come by since but with the Trotters struggles a return to the first-team picture can’t be far away.

Hall has been the undoubted star of the Bolton U23 team who actually lead the way in their Professional Development League and it’s largely down to his goals.

The 20-year old striker is not only Bolton’s top scorer but also in the entire league and has the great ability to find space and keep his cool in front of goal.

Therefore, it’s quite baffling that Hall hasn’t been given much of a chance in the senior setup and was even restricted to just six minutes in the FA Cup loss to Huddersfield earlier in the year.

If their woes continue in front of goal, Hall may yet have a part to play this season.
