It was a tough campaign for Sheffield Wednesday last time out, with the Owls failing to reach the play-off final having been beaten by Huddersfield, who eventually reached the Premier League.

On paper, the Owls have one of the strongest squads in the division and with plenty of financial firepower behind them, there's thought that we should be seeing much of the same next time around too.

And manager Carlos Carvalhal now has the whole summer to bring in the right players to add to the already-decent team at Hillsborough, and there's a couple of individuals that we're tipping to shine in Yorkshire next season, without any investment over the summer months.

The men in question? Forwards Sam Winnall and Fernando Forestieri, who didn't have their strongest campaigns last time out but with a good pre-season and some good players around them, should have the firepower to really make things happen for Wednesday next time out.

Winnall, signed from Barnsley last season, scored just three in 14 appearances having notched up an impressive 40 strikes in 95 appearances during his spell with the Tykes.

Meanwhile Fernando Forestieri might not be known for notching thirty goals a season but the Italian is arguably Wednesday's most creative spark, and will provide lots of the assists next season, whilst adding a few goals himself.

He's been tipped with a move away from the club on more than one occasion but now, he needs to get his head down and do everything in his power to ensure Wednesday are competing with the top brass against during next season's campaign.

Wednesday have plenty of firepower on their books but the bigger players now need to start performing - namely Winnall and Forestieri.
