It's been a tough campaign for Mark Warburton and Nottingham Forest in the Championship, with the Reds just about surviving on the final day of the season.

Despite comprehensively beating Ipswich Town on the last day, the Reds had been poor for much of the campaign, with Philippe Montanier's spell in the East Midlands ending in disaster.

Mark Warburton is now at the helm and has the chance to make his own additions over the summer, and there's one man we definitely think he should be targeting over the coming months.

The man in question? £4million-rated Birmingham City winger Kerim Frei, who has struggled at St Andrews this season.

Signed from Besiktas in January by former manager Gianfranco Zola, the Turkish international struggled to make a real impact at St Andrews having been held back by the man who signed him in the first place.

Zola's approach was a defensive diamond, which meant there was little time for Frei to get time on the pitch, despite showing some real promise when he was given the opportunity.

He scored Birmingham's goal of the season with a beautiful free-kick against Rotherham United to salvage a massive point at the New York Stadium but again, he didn't feature much after that, nor did we see much of him under Harry Redknapp.

He's a talented player who has been brought back to England with Birmingham but with a change of manager now in-place, his position in their starting XI is looking unclear.

Forest have missed a real attacking outlet all season and you can only imagine the sort of effect he'd have playing alongside the likes of Assombalonga if they were both fit and playing well.

It's certainly a move Warburton should be considering over the summer months.
