There’s exciting times on the horizon for Birmingham City and manager Harry Redknapp, who has been trusted to take the team forward in the Championship next year.

The Football League veteran has been given the job full-time after performing heroics in the final few weeks of last season, guiding the Blues to consecutive wins to seal their safety in the second tier.

But moving forward, plenty of talk has turned to potential incomings, and the signing of former Brighton keeper David Stockdale has only served to increase the optimism flowing around St Andrew's.

Of course, this is a signing of the highest calibre and despite being linked to some either big transfer targets, one of Redknapp's big jobs before he starts adding to his ranks is to decide who’s going to stay from the current roster.

And there’s one man we at FLW think will only improve under the guidance of Redknapp, and that’s striker Che Adams.

Despite not showing his best goal-scoring form last season, the former Sheffield United striker suggested why former manager Gary Rowett paid a lofty £1.7 million to secure his services.

Quick, hard-working and with a real eye for goal, Adams has serious potential and is well on his way to becoming a top player.

But what he needs now is consistent gametime under the guidance of a manager that can teach him everything he’s picked up from his time in the game.

Naturally, he’s been linked with a transfer away from the club already this summer but after half-impressing last time out, there’s still work for Adams to do to prove that he’s got enough to be a really top player.

He owes it to Birmingham and this exciting era that is now being led by Redknapp.
