Birmingham City will look to make it back-to-back home victories when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to St. Andrew's tonight.

It's certainly a winnable game for Pep Clotet, although he will have to cope without influential midfielder Ivan Sunjic who is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the campaign against Leeds on Saturday.

The former Dinamo Zagreb man arrived in the summer and has immediately established himself as an important member of the team with his ability on the ball and the way he presses.

So, his absence will be a blow and it leaves the boss with a dilemma.

Whilst he could take the safe option of picking David Davis or Gary Gardner to partner the talented Jude Bellingham in the middle of the park, he should be ready to hand Josh McEachran his debut.

The former Brentford midfielder signed on a free transfer last month but has yet to feature, with a focus on building his fitness with the U23s but he must be pushing to be involved now.

And, Blackburn at home seems the ideal game to throw him in.

Firstly, it's a fixture they will feel they can win and it's one that they will look to control possession in and that should suit McEachran.

His game is all about his ability on the ball. He can drop deep, link play and set the tempo - the sort of qualities that Sunjic boasts and it's what Blues will need without him.

With Bellingham providing the energy, the former Chelsea man can look to provide the attacking players with the quality service in areas that will allow them to do damage.

Even though McEachran will know that he has no right to just walk into the team, Sunjic's suspension means that it feel as though things have fallen into place for him and he will be eager to grasp this chance.

Providing that's the case, it's down to him to show he can fill in for the Croatian as he looks to inspire Birmingham to a much-needed victory.
