Millwall are back in the Championship and they’re a team that are certainly going to stir up the Championship once again upon their return.

They won the League One play-offs back in May to secure their place back in the second tier and it’s set to be a busy summer at the Den as the right players are signed to keep them in the division at the first attempt.

The Championship is going to be as competitive as ever and with the gap at the bottom really widening last time out, it’s almost impossible to guess who will be down there come this time next year.

But there’s one man we at the FLW think would be a fantastic addition to the Lions squad and that’s Birmingham City hardman Paul Robinson.

Former West Brom star Robinson, was a big part of the Blues team last time out as they struggled under former manager Gianfranco Zola. The veteran defender was brought into the first-team once again and more than showed his leadership credentials as the side battled their way to Championship safety.

He’s a real leader on the pitch and whilst Millwall need more quality added to their ranks this summer, you get the impression that a signing like this would stand them in really good stead too.

“Robbo”, as he is more commonly known by the Blues faithful is well-liked but there is thought that his playing days at St Andrews are and should be drawing to a close.

There are changing times in the Midlands too thanks to Harry Redknapp’s arrival and Robinson might be a player that is sent on his way as a result of the managerial overhaul.

But for Millwall, a player of his quality and most importantly, experience, could turn out to be one of their better moves this summer, if they press ahead with a transfer.
