Queens Park Rangers have donned some fine central midfielder over the past 20 years.

Since the Millennium, QPR have seen some quality players come through their doors, and none more so in the midfield department. Here we take a look at QPR's four best central midfielders since 2000 - who gets your vote?

Ale Faurlin

A massive fan favourite during his time at QPR, Faurlin played 163 times for the club between 2009 and 2016, winning promotion on two occasions. He struggled with injury during the second-half of his QPR career, but he was always a quality, really technical player.

He was a quiet midfield player who just kept the side ticking over, but his impact on the team was never overlooked, and he was always revered by the fans - today, aged 33-years-old, he plays for Marbella FC.

Marc Bircham

A legend on and off the pitch for QPR, Bircham played over 150 league games for the club between 2002 and 2007, returning as a coach in 2009 and taking the caretaker role on the odd occasion.

He was a defensive midfielder with a bit of flair - if it wasn't his hair then it was his style of play, he was a physical player who could pass as well, and he was often an understated player in what were poor QPR teams.

Today he's out in the Bahamas working on a new project, but the Canadian would be a worthy candidate for QPR's team of the millennium.

Adel Taarabt

What is there to say about this man that hasn't already been said? 'The streets will never forget' is a phrase built for Taarabt - the streets won't forget his 2010/11 season for QPR where he scored 19 league goals, won the Championship title and was named Football League Player of the Year.

His career has since taken some saddening declines but aged 30-years-old, the Benfica man still has time, if he wanted, to grace the Loftus Road soil once again - it'd be a momentous return for a once top-class player.

Joey Barton

Love him or hate him, Barton was actually a good footballer. His work on the pitch was often overshadowed by his calamities off it, but his time at QPR represented a new and much more civilised stage in his career - albeit with a few spats against the likes of Sergio Aguero.

But that's the type of player he was and QPR fans truly worshipped him - we saw a really quality midfielder prevail during his four seasons at the club, and he'd be a welcomed, if not unexpected addition to this list.

Now managing Fleetwood Town, Barton is proving to be as influential off the pitch as he was on it - if and when the football season resumes, Barton could be taking his Fleetwood side to QPR in the Championship next season.
