Cardiff City midfielder Lee Tomlin has committed his future to the club after signing a new contract until the summer of 2022.

Tomlin was preparing to see his current Bluebirds deal expire in the summer, but he has now extended his stay in the Welsh capital by a further two years after making an impressive start to life under new Cardiff boss Neil Harris.

The attacking midfielder struggled to nail down his place under former manager Neil Warnock, but he has been named in the starting line-up for nine of Harris' first ten matches in charge, during which time he has scored three goals and made five assists.

This fine return has seen the Welsh side offer fresh terms to Tomlin ahead of the South Wales derby against Swansea on Sunday, and the 30-year-old now looks set to play a key role in Cardiff's possible play-off push in the second half of the campaign.
